Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Where can I take my 11 year-olds on an overnighter?

A. Many of the Council camps offer overnight camping for your 11 year-olds such as: Buck Hollow, Maple Dell, Scofield, Tifie, and Thunder Ridge. Have you heard about our Merit Badge Adventures? These adventures typically work on Eagle-required merit badges AND include an overnighter.

Q. How does a boy migrate from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts?

A. This can be done in two steps. Step 1, the boy needs to participate in a "crossover ceremony" that represents the boy transitioning from Cub Scout to Boy Scout. The 11 yr-old leader should be there to welcome the new boy into the troop. Step 2, the parent/leader needs to contact the COR to initiate the record transfer.
