What is Leave No Trace?

Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics teaches people of all ages how to enjoy the outdoors responsibly and is the most widely accepted outdoor ethics program used on public lands. Through relevant and targeted education, research and outreach, LNT ensures the long-term health of our natural world. In its simplest form, Leave No Trace is about protecting the world through wise decisions.
Council courses offer three levels of training:
  • Leave No Trace Guide - Few Hours (Usually taught at summer camps)
  • Leave No Trace Trainer - 16-hour weekend course
  • Leave No Trace Master Educator - Weeklong
