Merit Badge Adventure

*UPDATE*

Due to heavy rains and flooding at Camp Maple Dell, the October 12-13 Merit Badge Adventure will be relocated to the Orem Scout Office (748 N 1340 W Orem, Utah 84057) in order to ensure the safety of all participants. Because of the change in location, we will not be able to accommodate overnight camping. Troops will need to drive home Friday evening and then return on Saturday. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. We will also offer a “rain check” allowing you to camp at Maple Dell once the property is operating safely again.

For the Rifle and Shotgun Merit Badges, the book work will take place at the Orem Office. The shooting requirement will be rescheduled at a later date. We will be able to accommodate the Archery Merit Badge.

WHAT

Maple Dell Scout Camp brings you an unparalleled Merit Badge Adventure! During this overnighter, Scouts can choose between 25 different merit badges to earn or work on their rank requirements in the Trail to First Class. Scouting leaders can take the Northstar: Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills while Scouts are filling their minds with knowledge.

WHY

Not only will Scouts get in an overnighter (for Camping Merit Badge), they'll have the opportunity to progress in their Scouting journey, either through rank advancement or earning merit badges.

WHO

Any Scout and leader combination, including parents or whole units, wards, and stakes.

PRICE

Cost covers Saturday's breakfast and lunch, snacks, campsite, and a patch!

  • $10 per Leader

Additional costs:

  • Some merit badges have a fee associated with the class.

PREREQUISITES

*Depending on which merit badge they choose, there may be some pre-requisites needed to be done beforehand so the Scout can leave with a completed Merit Badge.

WHAT TO BRING

  • Materials and food for you to cook Friday's dinner
  • Camping gear
  • Water bottle

  • Jacket or Sweatshirt
  • Merit Badge Blue Cards

SCHEDULE

 Friday:

  • 6:30 pm-7 pm Check-In
  • 7 pm - 10 pm: Class time

Saturday:

  • 7 am - 8 am: Breakfast (provided by camp)
  • 8 am - 12 pm: Class time
  • 12 pm - 12:45 pm: Lunch (provided by camp)
  • 12:45 pm: Troops check out and go home

Cancellation Policy
CANCELLATION & PAYMENT POLICY: The Utah National Parks Council must commit financial resources to employ staff, purchase food and supplies, and to prepare for camping operations. Participants, therefore, are required to make a financial commitment to attend. * Refunds of fees paid for individuals or units requested at least one week before camp will be fully granted. * No refunds are given if a registration is cancelled or the number of attendees is reduced within one week of your scheduled arrival date at camp. * No refunds will be given for "no-shows" at camp. * Payment is required at time of registration.. * The number of youth and leaders can be changed up to 2 days before you arrive at camp. If you do not change your number of campers by that time, you will be responsible to pay the total amount of ALL those registered.
