Orem District Fall Camporee

DATE: 28 - 29 September 2018

Place: The new Scout Camp being established in Eagle Mountain at the foot of Pole Canyon and between Fairfield and Cedar Fort.  Click here for a view of where the camp is located.

Theme: Return to Brownsea Island – Desert Version! (Camping, Observation, Woodcraft, Chivalry, Lifesaving, and Patriotism).

Staff: Order of the Arrow, and Eagle Scouts from the District

Exhibitors: Will be on hand to demonstrate backpacking stoves, emergency preparedness, Scout approved pocket knives, and more.

Who Can Attend: All Scout troops and 11-year old patrols in the Orem District.

Cost: $7.00 per Scout.

What to Bring (Scouts and Scouters): Can you create a functioning camp with just the following: Backpack (Everything must fit into a Backpack save the staves), One tarp per Scout, ground cloth, 1st Aid Kit per Scout (it will be used), Pocket Knife, One Container for food, Backpacking stove with fuel, 2 matches, flint and steel (optional), Bow Drill set (optional), Cordage, whistle, Sleeping Bag, food (dinner, breakfast, and lunch), and Staves are highly recommended.

How good are your basic Scout Outdoor skills? Can you survive with the material that the first scouts had at Brownsea Island? Come meet Lord Robert Baden-Powell! Pioneering projects are highly encouraged, and the raw material to construct such projects can be brought in by motor transport!
Each troop is highly encouraged to have a song to share with the other troops.

Service Project: We will have the opportunity to help develop permanent campsites at the new camp!
