2019 Klondike Derby (East District)

High Uintah District (East District) Klondike Derby is an annual winter overnight campout with lots of fun and challenges!

WHY

Make sure your troop attends this fun event, the best winter camp-out ever!

WHO

All Boy Scout troops of the High Uintah district - especially those in the Vernal area.

PRICE

Price includes campsite and district led-activities.

  • $6 per participant (Each Scout and adult advisor)

WHAT TO BRING

  • Anything they need to bring such as forms, food, and optional items

SCHEDULE

Friday:

  • 2:00pm - Bacon Park Entrance - Check-in & Camp set-up
  • 6:00pm - Individual Troop Campsites - Dinner
  • 7:30pm - Klondike Overview, Troop Roll Call with Troop Flag & Yell Presentations
  • 8:30pm - Cracker Barrel Refreshments
  • 10:30pm - Lights out

Saturday:

  • 6:30am - Bugle/Horn blast! Breakfast at Individual Troop Campsites
  • 8:30am - Festivities Begin
  • 12:00am - Troop Campsites - Strike Camp & Clean-up. After inspection, troops are dismissed

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Camp Rules and Instructions

  1. Remember: This is a Scout Camp! All Scouts should live by and practice the Scout Oath and Law at all times.
  2. Heavy emphasis on Patrol Method.
  3. Campsites "claimed" on a first come, first served basis. No camping in the main pavilion nearest entrance or the far northeast pavilion which is reserved for the OA Staff.
  4. Please keep fires in fire rings or Tin Lizzy's at all times.
  5. Clean-up campsites after the close of camp and please make sure that all garbage is taken with you. There is no garbage service during the winter.
  6. Make sure enough water is brought in order to keep your troop hydrated. No water is available at Bacon Park during the winter.
  7. Lights out at 10:30 p.m. No boys should be out of their camp area after 10:00 p.m. Leaders please make sure that this is enforced.
  8. If an emergency occurs, please contact a member of the Klondike staff at the main Pavilion (designated at check-in).

Cancellation Policy
Refunds of fees requested at least two weeks prior to an event will be fully granted. No refunds are given if a registration is canceled or the number of attendees is reduced within two weeks of your scheduled event.
