Come and race your pinewood derby car on the world's LONGEST pinewood derby track at Rio Tinto Stadium and get tickets to a future game to watch the 2009 MLS Cup Champion REAL Salt Lake! Each car entry will also recieve a commemorative patch! The cost is $15 per car entry--come and bring the whole family (Spectators are FREE!) and race a car while you are at it.
You will need to select which hour you would like to race.
The $15 entry fee includes a chance to race on the world's longest Pinewood Derby track and includes a ticket to a Real Salt Lake soccer game. You may also purchase additional game tickets for your family and friends when you register ($15 each). If you are not racing a car, admission as a spectator is FREE!
YOUTH AND ADULT DIVISIONS - RULES
1. The car weight shall not exceed 5.0 ounces.
2. The overall length of the car shall not exceed 7 inches.
3. The overall width of the car shall not exceed 2 ¾ inches.
4. The car must have 1 ¾” clearance between the wheels.
5. The car must have 3/8” clearance underneath the body.
6. The car must be freewheeling, with no starting devices.
7. No loose material of any kind, such as lead shot, may be used.
8. Nails will need to be glued in or use a solid axle– track length will exceed 300 feet.
9. The car body may have no moving parts.
10. Only one car may be registered by any person in the Pinewood Derby.
11. Only dry lubricants such as graphite or powdered teflon "white lube" will be allowed for lubricating the wheels. Lubricants may not foul the track.
12. Details such as the steering wheel, driver, decals, painting, and interior detail are permissible as long as these details do not exceed the maximum length, width, and weight specifications.
13. No open flames or materials can be used that will harm the track.
14. This is an opportunity to run your pinewood derby car on the World’s Longest Pinewood Derby track. Awards will not be given.
Each car must pass inspection by the official inspection committee before it will be allowed to compete. The Inspection Committee has the responsibility to disqualify those cars that do not meet these specifications.
