Commissioner College

What is Commissioner College?

College of Commissioner Science, or Commissioner College, is advanced training specifically designed for all commissioners, to help them in their unique roles and responsibilities in Scouting. It’s modeled after a traditional college, with requirements that lead you to bachelors, masters, and doctorate “degrees” in commissioner science.  Each faculty is selected from among the most capable trainers in the Council.

Who should attend?

Commissioner college is for ALL commissioners. And of course, anyone else who would like to attend is welcome to as well, this includes Committee members, unit leaders.

Why should I attend?

Every Scout deserves a well-trained leader and every leader deserves a well-trained commissioner.

Commissioners are there to support and help leaders provide a better program for the Scouts. Trained commissioners equal better service to the units. Stronger units equal a better Scouting program.

There is no cost for the 2021 college. This year the cost of attending is a promise to honestly complete the post-college survey to help us know if what we're doing is or is not working for you, to improve our college and to know what you'd like taught at the next session.

Rather than holding an all-day event once a year, we have chosen to hold three 1/2 day events throughout the year!

  • Courses will be offered three times in 2021:
    • (Spring) Saturday, May 1 - Registration now open
    • (Fall) Saturday, September 11 - Registration will open early August.
