Distinguished Conservation Service Award
The Distinguished Conservation Service Award is the premier conservation recognition earned by the youth and the requirements are challenging.
Because of the detailed and challenging requirements, an adviser is required to advise, coach and mentor the applicant throughout the application process and especially in selecting, leading and evaluating the two required conservation service projects.
Why do you want to go?
The training course prepares the adviser by thoroughly immersing the adviser in all aspects of the award program. Emphasis is upon the requirements of selecting a viable conservation project and the adviser is introduced to the conservation project workbook. The workbook is the guide to an effective project and is required to be completed for each project.
Successful completion of the course merits the distinctive recognition emblem.
Who Should Attend?
The course is suggested for Scoutmasters, Assistant Scoutmasters, Venturing Advisers, District and Council outdoor program committee members and members of the council conservation committee.
