Oquirrh Mountain District is hosting BALOO and IOLS training. All adults from all districts are invited! We are also hosting a merit badge event for the Scouts at the same time!

No cost for Adults or Scouts.

The Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS) course builds and expands on the concepts and themes introduced in Scoutmaster Position-Specific Training and provides Scouters with the confidence to take youth into the outdoors. Be sure to complete online position specific training prior to arrival.

BALOO Training is made up of two parts: an online course available on My.Scouting.org, and an in-person, hands-on course. You must complete both parts to qualify as a trained outdoor Cub Scout leader. To find the online training go to your 'My.Scouting.org' account, Go to 'My Training', then click on 'Cub Scouting training courses' and search BALOO in the Catalog at the top of the page.  Please print or take a picture of your certificate and bring it with you to class.

All adults, regardless of their unit position are invited to attend. Adults plan for overnight tent camping.

Merit Badge Pow Wow.  Saturday only. Please bring a sack lunch. 8 am check in.

Merit Badges offered: Limit of 10 scouts per class.

• Archery-8:30 am and 10:40 am class times available
  • Group archery practice 1:40-3:30 pm
• Fishing-8:30 am and 10:40 am class times available
  • Group hands on fishing at 1:40-3:30pm 
• Chess- 8:30 am  and 10:40 am and 1:40 pm class time available
• Citizenship in World- 10:40 am  and 1:40 pm class times available
• Sustainability-8:30 am class time
• Automotive Maintenance-8:30 am and 10:40 am and 1:40 pm class times available

Register early as space is limited for adult training and the merit badge classes.
