Crossroads of the West Council Celebrates 2,000th Eagle Scout Award Since Formation

Genola, Utah – The Crossroads of the West Council is proud to announce a historic milestone: the presentation of its 2,000th Eagle Scout Award since the council's formation on April 1, 2020. This distinguished achievement is awarded to Hagen C. of Troop 101 in Genola, Utah, who exemplifies the core values of Scouting through his dedication, service, and leadership.

Hagen earned Scouting's highest rank by completing a meaningful Eagle Scout project benefiting the Goshen Food Pantry, which serves approximately 25 families weekly. Through his project, Hagen mobilized his troop and community to make a lasting impact. Flyers were delivered across two towns, and donations were collected at Macey’s grocery store, yielding over 1,700 items and a monetary contribution for the pantry.

“This project will help families for months to come,” said the beneficiary of the Goshen Food Pantry. “We are so grateful for Hagen’s hard work and the generosity of the community.”

Reflecting on his experience, Hagen shared: “I learned about leadership by guiding 8-10 Scouts in delivering flyers, accepting donations, and organizing items at the food pantry. I also learned that people are generous and giving. I’m glad I was able to do a successful Eagle Project and help my community.”

Hagen’s achievement highlights the transformative power of Scouting and the impact youth leaders can have on their communities. The Crossroads of the West Council, which serves Scouts in Utah, Idaho, and Wyoming, has celebrated this milestone as a testament to the commitment of its Scouts, volunteers, and families.

“Reaching 2,000 Eagle Scouts is an incredible accomplishment for our council,” said Allen Endicott, Scout Executive. “Hagen Carter embodies the principles of Scouting through his dedication to leadership, service, and community. His project is a shining example of the positive difference Scouts make.”

As Crossroads of the West Council celebrates this milestone, it reaffirms its mission to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
