Cub Hub Message
Membership Newsletter | March 2024
We are already off to an amazing start with our membership for 2024. I have been so impressed with the volunteers and professionals on every level and the many ways and tools that have been used to grow membership in 2023. Visibility of Scouting and BSA has been soaring. We have had some great exposure through print media, social media, broadcast media, and community events just to name a few. We need to keep this momentum going in 2024.
Some of the points in the Council Membership Plan include identifying a feeder Pack for each Troop (male and female); continuing to grow Cub Scouting in 2024 (which will feed into Troops and Crews); continue to market Scouting through all available types of media (don’t be afraid to ask!); continue to work with schools through service, school fairs, carnivals, Kindergarten roundups, back to school nights (we are making inroads here); identify new chartered partners: create new Packs and Troops as numbers begin to swell in existing units; engage families in all units; make Scouting visible in community events (use the uniforms) to foster interest of new families in Scouting.
We will have a Council-wide membership meeting on March 4 at 6pm to introduce the new Cub Scout program and talk briefly about Kindergarten roundups this spring. Be sure to join in in person if you are available or watch the recording when time permits. We are excited to learn about the changes!
It takes all of us to make Scouting great for our youth. The timeless values of the Scout oath and law are so important in this new world we live in. Not only does it affect the lives of youth in positive ways, but it also affects adults and leaders as well. What a great way to grow together!
Thank you all for your many hours of service to youth and our communities!
Sincerely,
Angé Workman
