Crossroads of the West Council Celebrates a Successful Summer with Over 28,000 Participants Across 13 Camps

Utah, Idaho, Wyoming – The Crossroads of the West Council is proud to announce the completion of a remarkable summer season at its 13 camps across Utah, Idaho, and Wyoming, welcoming a total of 28,853 participants. These camps, located in stunning environments ranging from lakeside retreats to high mountain peaks and the red rock landscapes of southern Utah, provided unique outdoor experiences for youth groups, helping them build character and develop leadership skills.

Participants included Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA members, and groups from Brigham Young University’s Especially for Youth (EFY) program, as well as youth from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ Primary and Young Men and Young Women programs. Each camp offered tailored programs to inspire confidence, camaraderie, and a lifelong love for the outdoors.

In addition to the camps, the council’s Teton Whitewater rafting company in Jackson, Wyoming, served an impressive 10,300 customers, adding to the adventurous spirit of the summer season. Teton Whitewater offers thrilling whitewater rafting experiences on the Snake River, providing a perfect complement to the council’s other outdoor programs.

“We are thrilled to have provided so many youth and families with unforgettable experiences this summer,” said Paxton Jensen, Camping Vice President of Crossroads of the West Council. “From rafting the rapids in Jackson to camping under the stars in Utah’s red rock country, our camps offered more than just fun—they fostered leadership, resilience, and preparedness for life.”

Scouting America, through Crossroads of the West Council, remains committed to offering the nation’s premier youth programs centered on character development and values-based leadership training. With over 8,000 youth members and 3,000 volunteers across Utah, southwestern Wyoming, and southern Idaho, the council is deeply dedicated to ensuring that young people are “Prepared. For Life.®”
