Leave No Trace
The Leave No Trace courses are designed to give participants a thorough understanding of the concepts and practices involved to minimize impacts in the outdoors, as well as BSA policies concerning outdoor activities. The courses are also designed to give participants the tools they need to teach others how to effectively practice and understand Leave No Trace.
What is involved in the LNT 101 course?
Leave No Trace is important as we strive to live by the Outdoor Code, follow the Scout Oath and Law, protect nature, and leave a good impression on others. The BSA-LNT 101 course is designed to give Scouts and Scouters the basic training and skills needed to be leaders in the outdoors and effectively practice the principles of Leave No Trace on all outings. Troop Outdoor Ethics Guides and Advisers are especially encouraged to attend but this course is for any Scouting youth (11+) or adult with an interest in learning how to be a better steward of the outdoors.
Who should become a Leave No Trace Trainer?
The Leave No Trace Trainer Course is an internationally recognized training that is designed to hone the minimum impact camping skills of participants and give them the tools and confidence needed to teach the principles and ethics of Leave No Trace. It is designed to be every bit as much a teaching course as it is a skills course. Participants will learn different teaching methods and activities to aid in teaching Leave No Trace to a variety of groups from Cubs, to Venturers, to Scouters and the general public. This course is 16 hours long and is for Scouts and Scouters 14 and up.
Arrival is 6 pm Friday and end by 5 Pm Saturday.
