Membership and Unit Renewal
Scouting America offers an online member and unit renewal process. Listed below are several resources to assist with smooth and improved renewal processes. All units and members currently registered with Scouting America need to complete this process on a yearly basis.
Use these resources to help your unit’s renewal. You can also visit the Internet Recharter Responses to Forum-Related Questions/Discussions helpdesk for additional questions and timely assistance.
New 2024 Renewal Process...
- Login at my.scouting.org and go to "Organization Manager" (unit leader, committee chair, chartered organization representative, or designee have access).
- Validate information (need to validate all unit information before starting renewal).
- Make changes to leadership if needed in "Position Manager" - have leaders take Youth Protection Training if needed.
- Click on "Unit Renewal" on the menu.
- E-sign the page.
- Pay and submit.

Current Fee Structure
National membership fee structure as of May 1, 2024:
- $91 for Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Venturing and Sea Scouting participants ($5 increase)
- $71 for all adult volunteers ($5 increase)
- $25 for Merit Badge Counselors, Nova Counselors, and Supernova Mentors (this fee applies only to those individuals who are not already registered as adult leaders in the Council)
- $56 for Exploring participants Youth & Adult
- $100 for a unit charter/affiliation fee
- $15 for Scout Life magazine subscription
