OGDEN, Utah — The Crossroads of the West Council, Scouting America, will honor David Blair with the prestigious Distinguished Eagle Scout Award on Friday, March 10, at the Weber State University Track and Field Complex. The award presentation will begin at 4:15 p.m.
The Distinguished Eagle Scout Award is one of the highest honors presented by Scouting America, recognizing Eagle Scouts who have demonstrated extraordinary national-level achievement, leadership, and service in their professional careers and communities.
Blair, a Weber State University alumnus and Paralympic gold medalist, has inspired countless individuals through his resilience, determination, and excellence in athletics. Born with a clubfoot, Blair overcame significant physical challenges to become a state champion in discus and later a world-class competitor. After stepping away from the sport for more than a decade, he made a remarkable return—ultimately earning a gold medal and setting a world record in discus at the 2016 Paralympic Games.
“David’s story is one of perseverance, grit, and an unwavering commitment to excellence,” said Ken Jeppesen, Council President. “He represents the very best of what it means to be an Eagle Scout—using his talents and experiences to inspire others and make a meaningful impact.”
The award presentation will take place during a special gathering at Weber State’s track and field complex, where attendees will have the opportunity to celebrate Blair’s achievements and hear reflections on his journey.
Media and community members are invited to attend.
