Utah, Idaho, Wyoming – As the Crossroads of the West Council celebrates its 5th anniversary, the council is proud to highlight another impactful year of outdoor programs, leadership development, and meaningful experiences for youth and families. This season, 28,617 participants attended camps, day camps, high-adventure programs, and weekend events across the council’s 13 camp properties—demonstrating continued enthusiasm for Scouting’s mission and outdoor adventure.
Formed in 2020 amid nationwide challenges, the Crossroads of the West Council has spent five years building momentum, strengthening communities, and expanding opportunities for young people. As the council reflects on this milestone, 2025 stands out as a testament to resilience, teamwork, and the power of Scouting to bring people together.
Five Years of Progress and Purpose
Since its creation, the council has:
Delivered high-quality, safe, and innovative programs for tens of thousands of youth.
Strengthened its 13-camp footprint across Utah, southern Idaho, and western Wyoming.
Supported unit leaders, families, and volunteers with year-round resources and training.
Continued expanding Cub Scout, Scouts BSA, Venturing, and youth group programs.
This anniversary year highlights not just how far the council has come—but how bright the future continues to be.
Season Highlights
Across all camps and programs, the energy of 2025 was unmistakable. This year included:
28,617 total participants engaging in council-run programs.
Growing interest in Cub Scout Day Camps and youth-group adventure camps.
Strong, well-rounded Scouts BSA programs featuring aquatics, climbing, outdoor skills, leadership, and range and target activities.

The dedication of hundreds of seasonal staff and volunteers who created safe, welcoming, and memorable experiences.
“Our 5-year anniversary is a moment to celebrate—not only the past, but the people who make this council what it is,” said Paxton Jensen, Vice President of Camping. “Welcoming 28,617 participants this year is a powerful reminder that Scouting continues to impact lives in meaningful ways. You can see the growth, the joy, and the adventure happening every single day at camp.”
