February 5, 2026
Utah, Idaho, Wyoming - Scouting America’s Crossroads of the West Council is proud to announce the 2026 Scouting for Food Drive, a community-wide effort to combat hunger across Utah, Idaho, and Wyoming. This year’s event, set for Saturday, February 7, 2026, will bring together Scouts, volunteers, and local partners in a unified effort to collect non-perishable food items for families in need throughout the region.
In 2026, the campaign takes on special significance as it aligns with the national celebration of America250—250 years of service, citizenship, and community in our nation’s story. Scouting for Food provides a meaningful way for Scouts and the public to honor that milestone by turning celebration into action and supporting neighbors who need it most.
Scouting for Food is one of the largest youth-led service initiatives in the nation. Each year, Scouts demonstrate leadership and compassion by collecting food at Smith’s Food & Drug locations and in local neighborhoods to support food banks, shelters, and community organizations serving families facing food insecurity.
How the Public Can Help:
Donate: Residents can donate non-perishable food items at drop-off locations throughout the region.
Volunteer: Community members are encouraged to volunteer and help Scouts sort and distribute donations.
Key Date to Remember:
Food Collection Day: Saturday, February 7, 2026
“We are proud to continue this tradition of service, especially in a year when our nation is reflecting on 250 years of community and citizenship,” said Allen Endicott, Scout Executive of Crossroads of the West Council. “Scouting for Food is a powerful example of young people living the Scout Oath by helping others and making a real difference in the lives of families facing hunger.”
